Picture
Tommy Lee Edwards has spent the last 30 years telling stories for clients such as Lucasfilm, Disney, Marvel, Rocket Pictures, Google, Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, EA Games, Random House, Hasbro, and Netflix with comics like Batman and Jupiter’s Legacy, video games like Command and Conquer and Medal of Honor, and countless illustrations for books, merchandise, posters, magazines, and advertising campaigns. Tommy feels most at home putting his imagination, team-building skills, and storytelling flair to the test as a concept artist, production designer, and director. He was the concept artist on the Hughes Brothers’ Denzel Washington epic The Book of Eli, and contributed to the visual language of the Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Batman Begins movies. Microsoft’s award-winning interactive animated web-series The Random Adventures of Brandon Generator utilized all aspects of storytelling techniques, with Tommy directing a multi-national remote team from a script by Edgar Wright. Helming live-action & animated projects for music labels, tv studios, Google, Fox, and others led Tommy to spending the past four years working as Creative Director for Atmos Labs, overseeing the creation of the startup’s upcoming multiplayer online racing game and comic book series. When Tommy is not restoring classic cars or hiking with his dogs, he’s writing & directing music videos and a series of projects for Mad Cave and Tatsunoko Productions.

"There is no doubt in my mind that Tommy was put on this planet to tell stories."
-John Stevenson
(director of Kung Fu Panda)

"Tommy would make a fantastic director because he’s all about preparation. He knows what he wants going in. Storytelling is first and foremost on his mind, with clarity for the audience take precedence over any stylistic choices."
-Albert Hughes
(director of Book of Eli, Dead Presidents, From Hell)

"Tommy brought Edgar Wright’s scripts to life in ways I could never have imagined were possible, and exceeded my expectations at every turn."
- Paul Davies
(Director of Microsoft UK Marketing Communications)

"Tommy knows what he wants and is good at articulating it to others.  Other things you can learn as you go, like lenses, VFX and schedules etc, but a point of view - or "voice" or whatever you want to call it - is something you have or you don't.  And Tommy has it."
-J Blakeson
(director of The Disappearance of Alice Creed)

"Turf is unlike anything you've ever seen.  It's not surprising to see a multicultural collision like this come out of Mr Ross and Mr Edwards' brains, what is shocking is that it works so well. Fast-paced, efficiently told and quite addictive!!"
-Guillermo del Toro
(director of Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim)
